I'm sorry but I think this thing is hideous.

The front looks like someone with down syndrome halfway through the realization that somebody took the toy he was so happy about a minute ago away..

..and the rear end looks like it has just had something unexpectedly stuck up it's rear end.

It doesn't flow right and the proportions feel off.. The front too low the rear too high.

So.. yeah.. I'm sure it'll be a great car. But design-wise..

The press shots and renders are terrible.

A guy here on oppo took pictures of one in person and it looks a bit better without all the filters and shit.

I don't think they'll look that bad in person; we'll have to wait to see what they're like when they hit the streets.

It looks a good deal better in non-press shots, but I'm mostly with you. The headlights are far, far too small, and the smile too psychotic.

Agreed. But just style-wise following the miata heritage.. there is very little left of it. It's aggressive, complicated. Something that doesn't fit the Miate IMO.

Unfortunately, modern design language is very angry and harsh.

They'll probably clean it up mid-generation with a refresh. I don't like the rear bumper and the front bumper could be made cleaner.

I like the shape okay, but my favorite thing about it are the black side-mirrors. I can't think of a single car with body-color side mirrors that wouldn't benefit from the streamlining effect of black mirrors.

Yea, it's a disaster. It might work if they stretched it into a GT, but in this package the scale is way off. Bigger it would look sort of like a Ferrari with a F-Type butt.
